Fleming, Executive Vice President, Insurance Specialist, Lumena
Financial Strategies

Have you ever thought about how the cost of healthcare impacts your retirement? It's not just medical insurance. Prior to retirement many people rely on employer sponsored benefits, however, once you retire you are on your own.
Medicare is our country's health insurance program for people age 65 or older and younger people receiving Social Security disability benefits. The program helps with the cost of health care, but it doesn't cover all medical expenses or the cost of most long-term care. In this presentation, we will discuss:
- Medicare Enrollment
- Medicare and Private Insurance
- Planning for Higher Healthcare Costs
Join us for a discussion on how to plan now to make sure that you have the flexibility to control the type and quality of care you will receive in retirement without breaking the bank.

“The Long-Term Care Experience” with Elizabeth M. Ruch, Retired Financial Advisor & Alison Fleming, President, Lumena Financial Strategies
Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 4:00 PM PST
"Confidence comes from being prepared." - John Wooden
While many may know the importance of having a Long-Term Care plan in place, there is often mystery around the actual claim process. In many cases, 20 years or more have passed between buying the policy and using the benefits—and in that time, the types of care and rules for new policies may have changed. So, how well do you know your policy? What should you be prepared for? These questions and many more will be discussed in this webinar.
Elizabeth Ruch retired in April of 2017 from a 36 year career as a financial advisor with Waddell & Reed. In 2013 Elizabeth was honored by her peers and the company, being nominated and chosen as the recipient of the “Seven C’s”. This award was given annually to one person within the company who epitomized the essential characteristics and ideals that embody the highest standards for Waddell & Reed.
Liz holds degrees from Virginia Intermont College and from Virginia Commonwealth University. She was a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner from 1984 until her retirement. Since Liz's retirement, she has been volunteering with the Copley Price YMCA, enjoying her book club, and has recently activated her husband's long-term care policy. She wanted to share her personal experience in hopes that it would help others.
