Family Wealth Management: Generational Wealth Conversations” presented by John Wadsworth, Director, MFS Fund Distributors, Inc.

Wednesday, October 13, 2021 4:00 PM, Pacific Daylight Time

Family wealth transfer is not just about getting financial assets to the next generation. It is also about how to pass on what we think is important AND how to avoid damaging our children's relationships with each other.

We have a perception that family wealth discussions are all about trusts, tax strategies and insurance policies. Rather, those are just tools your investment professional might use to help you try to achieve your family wealth transfer goals.

The real purpose of a family wealth conversation is to affect the impact you have on your family and community, both now and after you're gone. In this presentation, we will discuss ideas and tools that are available to help you, so that your family has significantly more success when the time comes.

John G. Wadsworth is a director for MFS Fund Distributors, Inc., a subsidiary of MFS Investment Management® (MFS®).

John began his career in the financial services industry in 1995 and joined MFS in 2001, serving as regional sales representative and business development manager before being named regional manager in 2004. He became an external wholesaler in 2005 and served as a regional manager and regional vice president before assuming his current role.

As the big day approaches, our team would like to communicate as many last minute LPL conversion details as we can. We have all been working hard so you don't have to!
During this webinar we will cover key dates including exactly when your accounts will move over to the LPL platform. Brokerage and Advisory accounts on Pershing may appear on a different day than Ivy accounts. Other accounts (i.e. 529 plans, annuities, or mutual funds held directly at other companies) may also have unique transition dates.

We are excited to show you a preview of what your new account statement will look like. We love the clarity and ease of understanding that the statements will now offer. Many clients are wondering how to access old statements and tax forms if needed so we will cover this topic as well.

This is the biggest change that we have all experienced in years (relating to Waddell & Reed of course!) and this webinar will help us prepare for our journey together with LPL. Change offers opportunity and it can also be stressful. One thing that has never changed and will always remain is our mantra, "Be a Long-term Thinker, Not a Short-term Worrier."

Cody Wilkinson has been leading the conversion process for our team, making sure that we are aware of and taking advantage of every opportunity to enhance what we can do for you. Cody joined LPL in 2006. He served as a Senior Technical Consultant prior to his role as Senior Transition Manager and has been an Assistant Vice President since March 2016. Who needs to do estate planning? The answer is, EVERYONE! Effective estate management enables you to manage your affairs during your lifetime and control the distribution of your wealth after death. An effective estate strategy can spell out your healthcare wishes and ensure that they're carried out – even if you are unable to communicate. It can even designate someone to manage your financial affairs should you be unable to do so. Having an estate plan is among the most important things you can do for your loved ones. It is, however, a task many of us dread and put off dealing with until later in life. It is never too early to start planning, but it can be too late.

Craig Lambourne was raised in Boulder County Colorado. He attended Colorado State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Thereafter, he moved to San Diego to pursue a career in law.

Craig has worked exclusively in the area of estate planning, trust and probate law since 2009. Craig is certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization as a Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law. Craig serves as a court appointed attorney for the San Diego Superior Court handling a variety of different proceedings, including: guardianships, conservatorships, and dementia-related matters.

At Ewin Lambourne Law, Craig advises individuals and families in all aspects of estate and business planning and administration. He designs, drafts, and implements comprehensive estate plans that provide clients peace of mind knowing that their legacy and loved ones will always be protected.
